Welcome to UUCO!
It is a privilege and honor to serve this wonderful congregation as their Developmental Minister. This is an exciting time for UUCO as it discovers its next chapter together as vibrant progressive faith community in Ogden. Join us for Sunday worship, participate in our religious exploration program, and answer the call of love with us as we seek to create a more just and loving world. And, of course, you are welcome to join us for social activities as we celebrate the joy of our being. We would love to get to know you as you explore your own spiritual journey in the context of community—the interdependent, interconnected place where we learn together and walk our talk in the world. We warmly invite all who seek a free and liberal faith where they can nurture their own soul and work for a better world.
And, in case you are curious, here’s a bit about me. I have served Unitarian Universalist congregations in Virginia, Delaware, New York and Michigan, most recently as the settled minister at Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. A UU for over thirty years, I have served a lay leader in Ohio and New York congregations, including serving as Founding Mother for the Unitarian Universalist Church of Canandaigua.
I was ordained in 2010 after achieving Master of Divinity at Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, California, Clinical Pastoral Education (chaplaincy training) in Evansville, Indiana and parish ministry internships in Virginia and Delaware. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology and Communication Arts from Cornell University.
Previous to my professional ministry career, I spent twenty years in corporate marketing and communication and ten years in not-for-profit management in organizations as diverse as Procter & Gamble and Planned Parenthood.
I have two grown daughters, both in upstate New York. I proud to say that they were raised in this faith and are pursuing careers that reflect their UU values—one as an organic seed farmer and the other as a social worker with at risk children and their families.
I hail from the Finger Lakes region of Western New York, but have lived in Ohio, California, Maryland, Delaware, Indiana and Michigan. I am very excited to be living in Utah since I enjoy the outdoors and find solitude in nature to be a powerful spiritual practice. I appreciate exploring the many cultural opportunities here as I love supporting the arts. And I love meeting new people and discovering parts of our nation that are new to me.
I invite you to come and check us out! You’ll find here a warm, inclusive and loving community with energy to create a better world. If you have questions, feel free to call me at 801-394-3338 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. I wish you all the best in your spiritual journey ahead!
