Two Boutiques with Several Needs
The Dream Team is looking for volunteers to help out at the Holiday Boutiques. There will be sign-ups after church on Sundays.
There will be an Interfaith Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 11 at First Presbyterian Church (880 28th Street, Ogden) from 9 am until 2 pm. Five local congregations and several private vendors will be participating in a craft and gift bazaar!
We will need set-up help on Friday, November 10 from 10 am -12 pm. We also need help on Saturday, November 11 with running our booth at the bazaar.
UUCO Holiday Boutique
The UUCO boutique set up will take place on Friday, November 17 (times to be announced) in the UUCO Fellowship Hall and we need volunteers to help run the Holiday Boutique on Saturday, November 18 between the hours of 9-3 (two hour shifts are available).
The UUCO Holiday Boutique will also be open after church on Sundays, November 19, November 26, and December 3. We will need a couple of volunteers to help on those dates.
Please look for the sign-ups in the Fellowship Hall on Sundays.
Are there some family recipes that have been handed down that should be in a cookbook? The Dream Team is collecting recipes for a cookbook that will be available to members, friends and whoever would like to buy one. You can send the recipes electronically to Cynthia Paige at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also drop off a copy at the church with any of the Dream Team (Debby Hackett, Jeff Lensman, Becky Jacobson, Cyndi Taylor) or with Karline the Church Administrator. If you want to make a copy of the recipe in its original form that is fine. That will add some color (and flavor?) to the cookbook. We will be collecting recipes through the end of the year so please get those in so we can get the cookbook out in the Spring. We will be including a section called Memorial Recipes to honor people who have passed away. It may not be a recipe that they cooked; it could be one of their favorites. Feel free to add some personal information about any of the recipes you submit. Also, please make sure we have a name and contact on the submitted recipes in case we need to clarify information.
Silent Auction Items Needed
The Holiday Boutique is approaching! We would like to offer silent auction items. For those who have generously offered items in the past, thank you and please considering offering again. Silent auction items can be the use of a cabin or away place you may own, a dinner hosted by you at your home and the dinner could have a theme, an art piece or a special item that should be auctioned rather than sold at the Boutique, a gift basket that you put together (usually with a theme), or some other auctionable idea you have. You can contact the Dream Team members (Debby Hackett, Cynthia Paige, Jeff Lensman, Becky Jacobson or Cyndi Taylor) about your Silent Auction plans.
Calling all Crafters!
The UUCO Holiday boutique will be starting in November. If you are a crafter or have friends who are crafters, we would like you to consider donating items for us to sell this year. We need items that can be bought as gifts. We also would like to ask that you save gently used re-giftables that we can also sell. Christmas ornaments or other holiday decorations are welcome as well. For more information or for donating items, please contact Cynthia Paige at email@example.com or 801-214-5254.”
